Game ball running in from Laurens

Clinton-Laurens game Aug. 26 will be promoted at Town Rhythms

Plans are in the works for the game ball for the Aug. 26 Clinton-Laurens cross-county rivalry football game to be run in from Laurens to uptown Clinton.

Clinton High Athletic Director Nickie Templeton is putting together the run that will start at Laurens District High School on Aug. 25. Runners will bring the game ball to The Depot and present it to District 56 Superintendent Dr. David O'Shields and District 55 Superintendent Dr. Stephen Peters. Templeton is aiming to get Clinton head coach Andrew Webb and Laurens head coach Chris Liner to be there, as well.

The group will invite everyone to the Aug. 26 season-opener, 7:30 pm kickoff at Wilder Stadium, and will introduce the Swingin' Medallions. Thursday is the final summer concert in the popular Town Rhythms series - the Medallions perform at 7 pm, following the Presbyterian College welcome back festivities around the uptown square in Clinton beginning at 6 pm.

All this is free to the public.
