Letter - how to conduct the people's business
I wanted to respond to the August 8 county council meeting.
First, I want to thank Sheriff Reynolds for his attempt to bring peace and civility to the meeting which could have gotten out of control. Then, I want to thank Councilman Jones for standing up for the citizen who was being
rudely treated by Councilman Wood.
The Spyglass matter was the topic, and several people were present to speak. Mr. Wood had Joe Avery's name added to the agenda. Mr. Avery
gave some specific info that was supposed to make sure the people had the facts. Mr. Wood should have let that be his response to the people's concerns.
Rather, he showed his disdain for the accountability that he should have to the citizens of Laurens County. He was so rude in his rant against Ms. Stewart. And if I'm not mistaken, County Council business is the business of all citizens of Laurens County.
