LETTER: Anderson mayor endorses McLean
I write this letter as the Mayor of Anderson to praise the talents and attributes of Mayor Bob McLean. For over a decade, local politics has allowed me to observe mayor in our region, state, nation, and world. Some of the common attributes of being a good mayor include being practical, consistent, creative, and innovative. Bob has the ability to makes things run smoothly in the City of Clinton, but also creates unique and lasting relationships with the citizens that he serves.
I have the privilege of observing Bob due to our affiliation as members of the Municipal Association of South Carolina. My first thoughts of him was the he was determined and had lots energy. As I have followed him through his time as mayor nothing has change from that first impression. From his tireless efforts to balance finances with smart growth, Bob has represented his city in an honorable and professional fashion.
As a graduate of Presbyterian College, he is deeply rooted in the Clinton community. Bob has helped created an atmosphere that allows the city and the college to thrive. On a state level he is 3effective in communicating with his local delegation and municipal peers. Hardly a day goes by where he is not involved in activities that make those around him better individuals. Even with all the activities I have witnessed him invoiced in over the years, he always had a smile and a positive attitude for even the most vexing issues.
In the end, the most accurate that I can say is: Re-elect him as the mayor of your ity, you won’t regret it!
Terence V. Roberts
Mayor, City of Anderson, SC
