HEY, what's that guy doing here - to find out, you have to come to Bailey Manor Christian Retirement Community in Clinton this Thursday evening.
Even Darth Vader, the Star Wars villain, can't help but get (a little) festive during the Festival of Trees at Bailey Manor, 300 Jacobs Hwy, Clinton. The festival's kickoff event will be Dec. 1, 5:30 - 8 pm, featuring live entertainment, refreshments and self-guided tours of the trees, scenes and - for the first time in 2016 - wreaths that deck the halls in Bailey Manor for this holiday event. After the official kickoff, the display is open to the public during normal business hours until just after the new year.
Businesses, community groups and individuals have lent, or right now are lending, their talents to make this the biggest holiday display in Laurens County - and annually a Christmas treat for young and old alike.
Also, on Dec. 1, the City of Clinton is staging its "It's Christmas Time in the City" event beginning at 6 pm at The Depot. The event will feature caroling, hot chocolate, carriage rides and the arrival of Santa Claus. Clinton's Christmas Parade will be this Saturday, Dec. 3, 10 am on Broad Street.
Line-up for the parade and a general roundup of Christmas activities for Laurens County will be in the Nov. 30 issue of The Clinton Chronicle.
