Going "on the road"
The District 56 Board of Trustees is going around the corner from its normal meeting place to have its September meeting Monday night.
The meeting will be at 7:30 pm in the Library of Clinton Middle School, 800 N. Adair St. (normally the board meets at Clinton High School on Hwy 72). The meeting is open to the public, and is part of the board's effort in the coming months to move its meetings around to D56 schools. The board will give special recognitions to the D56 Teachers of the Year and AdvancEd: Certificates of Accreditation.
A 15-minute time is set aside for public comments to the board (register before the meeting starts). The Targeted Focus Goal for this meeting will be "Empower students to use technology resources to support learning." Clinton Middle School will give a report, and there will be a Superintendent's Report: Technology Grant i-Pad Rollout, SC PASS, ACT & WorkKeys, notice to apply for 21st Century Grant, and International Literacy Day update. Administrative Reports will include budget/finance, and the board will give 1st reading of 5 policies.
The board will discuss selection of delegates and alternate for the SC School Boards Association 2016 Delegate Assembly. The Oct. 24 board meeting will be in the Clinton High School Auditorium, and the Nov. 21 meeting will be in the Library of Eastside Elementary School (both 7:30 pm).
