Five meetings in a week
School Board met Monday night in Joanna; County Council met Tuesday night
The District 56 Board of Education will conduct its regular monthly meeting tonight (Sept. 24) at 7:30 pm at Joanna Woodson Elementary School. The meeting is open to the public.
Agenda items will include Joanna Woodson presentation, Spirit of 56 Award, audience participation (register in advance), Laurens County Reading Council and SCIRA, report on state assessment, announcements, finance, unfinished and-or new business, and delegated and alternate for SCSBA 2018 Delegate Assembly.
The next monthly board meeting will be Oct. 22, 7:30 pm, in the Clinton High School Auditorium.
Water and Sewer Commission Board
The Board of the Laurens County Water and Sewer Commission will meet Tuesday, 8:15 am, in the board room at the commission office, Hwy 221, Laurens. The meeting is open to the public.
Agenda items include USDA Letter of Conditions, additional funding for Lake Greenwood Water Treatment Plant, Community Development Block Grant - Joanna Project, N. Marion St., update, water plant and Mogul sewer updates.

Greenville Health System and Palmetto Health to unveil new name, logo and purpose statement
WHAT: Greenville Health System (GHS) and Palmetto Health will unveil a united name, logo and purpose statement as they prepare to unite under a single brand in early 2019. The current name of the parent company, SC Health Company, will be retired.
WHEN: Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2018, 10 a.m.

OTHER: GHS and Palmetto Health will come together under a single brand identity, sharing a new name and logo, in early 2019. As part of the new identity, the current GHS and Palmetto Health brands, including their names and logos, will be retired. GHS and Palmetto Health will also share a new purpose statement, which will replace current mission, vision and values statements.
Laurens County Council -- credit cards
An audit of the credit cards issued to all Laurens County employees will be discussed by the county council Tuesday, 5:30 pm, in the council chambers, second floor of the historic courthouse in downtown Laurens. The meeting is open to the public.
Other agenda items are Henry Laurens Award presentation, proposed dog park at County Park, appointment recommendation by committee on health, welfare and public safety, first reading of ordinance about detitling mobile homes, nomination approval - Laurens County Water and Sewer Commission, fire grant approval, public comments, executive session - public works director.
CEDC Meeting - Project Tiger Cub
The Clinton Economic Development Commission will meeting Monday, Oct. 1, 8 a.m., in the council conference room of the MS Bailey Center for an executive session discussions of contracts related to Project Tiger Cub, and open session discussion of Hwy 72 water line upgrades. The open session discussion is open to the public under provisions of the SC Freedom of Information Act.
