County Council to meet Nov. 29
Laurens County Council's regular, every-other-week meeting has been pushed back a week because of proximity to Thanksgiving.
The meeting will be at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 29, in council chambers at the historic courthouse in downtown Laurens. The meeting is open to the public.
Reports to council will be given by Lisa Kirk, finance director (fiscal year 2016-17 monthly report #4), Greg Lindley, county fire director (Pickens County mutual aid) and County Administrator Jon Caime. Council will consider the revised employment manual, and second reading of an ordinance expanding the Donaldson Center multi-county industrial park.
"Project Dalmatian" will be considered for an expansion of a multl-county industrial park. Resolutions of commendation will be given to E-911 Dispatch employees, who have received statewide awards, and a FEMA Grant will be considered for approval. The public works subcommittee will make a report, and resolutions will be considered for reassigning the Hillcrest Bond Ordinance and allowing for the transfer of the reserve fund.
A public comments time will be assigned 15 minutes. Anyone who wants to address the council about any issue is required to register at the podium before the meeting starts. County Council members' comments will follow the public comments.
Council will receive a legal briefing in a closed-to-the-public executive session.
