Boom Bus coming through Clinton next Tuesday
The Boom Bus is coming to – well, through – Clinton next Tuesday.
University of South Carolina head football coach Will “Boom” Muschamp will be on the bus on the way to a Gamecock Club meeting in Greenwood.
Former USC Board Chairman Herbert Adams said the Boom Bus will exit I-26 at Hwy. 72 between 3 and 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday, May 3.
The new promotional bus is part of the 2016 Gamecock Club’s “Spurs Up” Tour featuring Muschamp and other USC coaches.
The Boom Bus will continue on Hwy. 72 through Clinton – Adams hopes with a police escort – and on to Lake Greenwood, where Muschamp will be met by Greenwood County sheriff’s deputies.
The Gamecock Club meeting will be held at the Greenwood American Legion building.
The “Spurs Up” Tour will visit nine locations in the state. All events will give fans the opportunity to get Muschamp’s autograph and hear updates about the team.
"I'm looking forward to getting out and meeting the most loyal fan base in the country," Muschamp said. "This is an opportunity to thank them and show our appreciation for what they do for us."
The bus was loaned to the Athletics Department courtesy of Gamecocks supporter Reamer King of King Cadillac in Florence.
The artwork, or wrapping, of the bus, which includes images of Muschamp and the #SpursUp hashtag, was provided by another fan and donor, Roger Huskey of Hollywood's Productions in Gaffney.
