2 Theater Events Are Upcoming

“Seussical” auditions: The Laurens County Community Theatre will hold auditions for its upcoming production of Seussical, Jr. on Sunday, Jan. 14.

The auditions will be from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. at the Gilliam Center on the Thornwell campus. Roles are available for youth and adults ages 6 and up. Please be prepared to sing a song and read for the script.  

Show dates are February 23 and 24 and March 1, 2, and 3. The show is being directed by Ami Vaughn with music direction by Melissa Moore. For more information or questions, please contact Ami Vaughn at avaughn@charter.net

 

“Lying in State” schedule: The Laurens County Community Theatre announces that its upcoming production scheduled to open this Friday, has been postponed one week due to a casting issue. LYING IN STATE, written by David Hyer, will be performed January 19, 20, 25, and 26 with 7:30 p.m. curtains and a 3 p.m. matinee on Saturday, January 27.  

This hilarious comedy centers around the death of a state senator and the ridiculous circumstances of the accident that propels him into the national spotlight proving that love and politics are not a good match. Being directed by Myra Greene, the show stars Tim Doyle, Lesslie Blakely, Michelle Womble, Matthew Galloway, Ami Vaughn, Sharon Vincent and Graham Duncan.  

Tickets are $12 adults and $10 senior citizens/students. All LCCT productions are staged at The Gillam Center for the Performing Arts.
