VIC: Fighting Villains, Protecting the Public, Reducing the Stigma of Mental Illness

Kudos to our friends at the Greater Greenville Mental Health Center for tackling the issue of childhood mental health.

A recent open house was a very successful combination of superheroes and brain-health awareness. This description is one of 8 items listed in the most recent SC MHC Newsletter:

VIC - Wasting Away? Oh, No.

Against my better judgment I did not work the evening of April 25 and the daytime of April 26.

It was not something I had planned, and when I was told I was going to miss work that Thursday night, I was a little annoyed. My faithful, but sometimes managing wife had planned something else.

Larry - Well, now we know

The City of Clinton recently received its own Mueller Report. In a manner of speaking.

Those paying attention will remember that reporters asked, repeatedly, how much it was going to cost to split the Department of Public Safety into separate police and fire departments.

LARRY - Naked & Afraid on TV

There is a television show on The Discovery Channel with an intriguing name: Naked and Afraid. I am not making that up.

I confess at this moment that I’ve never watched it, so I’m offering you my opinions about something I know very little about. (I’ll pause now while all my faithful readers turned to the person with whom they plan to spend the rest of their lives and say, “So what’s new?”

VIC - Rock On, Tiny Dancer

I was privileged to see last Wednesday Elton John’s farewell tour performance in Columbia. Despite the mid-week show and getting home in the wee hours of Thursday (people our age are just too old for that) the Colonial was packed.

For a guy over 70 (!).
